Artist Bio; Banksy

Banksy is a Bristol born spray paint artist who's work usually has a deeper meaning than what is initially perceived, many of his works are monochrome with large areas of colour but in some of his pieces like one from London where it has a strong and clear message but it is minimalist almost. Within his piece 'I don't believe in global warming' his piece uses very minimal amounts of colour but it makes you think just how real and dangerous global warming is within our society and how we've been ignoring it and very soon it'll be too late to do anything.

 I find the piece 'mobile phone lovers' surprisingly accurate as within our modern society everyone is pulled into the social media societies and relationships between younger people especially are judged by their peers over these platforms rather than what is truly in their hearts. They also seem very distracted from each other which could be a figurative metaphor as to how social media takes away our interactions with people. The thing I most enjoy about this piece and many other of Banksy's work is that no matter what angle you look at these from you see a different layer of meaning, some political and others viewpoints in society.
